Chanel No. 5 in Watercolor is a painting by Susan Maxwell Schmidt which was uploaded on May 29th, 2021. The painting may be purchased as wall art, home decor, apparel, phone cases, greeting cards, and more. All products are produced on-demand and shipped worldwide within 2 - 3 business days.. Chanel No. 5 in WatercolorA bottle of the luxurious Chanel No. 5 Eau du Parfum painted in digital watercolor, the iconic perfume brand brought to life by the French fashion designer Coco Chanel in 1921 for her Chanel brand, which was later made the epitome of all contemporary fashion house fragrances by the charismatically eccentric and unfortunately late Karl Lagerfeld. Chanel No. 5, with its floral notes of jasmine and tuberose, was originally designed to appeal to modern-era flappers and their feminist (for the time) ideals. The 5 in the scent's name stems from not only the fifth formulation presented to Coco, the number actually also had a mystical connotation to her stemming from her early days in an orphanage run by a convent. The number five meant so much to her she even presented her fashion collections on the 5th of every May (5.5). The perfume was very exclusive when it was first introduced, it could only be purchased in Chanel's boutiques and you definitely had to be somebody to be worthy of acquiring it. The iconic bottle was designed in 1924 and has not changed since. Chanel's passion for simplicity and aversion to over-complication carried through to the design of the packaging, with the bottle's simple squared shape and elegantly faceted corners. Channel No. 5 remained exclusively available in Chanel's boutiques until 1924 when it was made available to the patrons of Bonwit Teller in New York, and it earned its decidedly solid footing in perfume history from that day forward. My still life painting was created in shades of yellow, gold, sage green and taupe on a beige cotton rag paper canvas with a light sage wash, and includes an array of splatters, smudges and drops one would expect to see with wet watercolor.
