Chanel presented its first big digital fashion show via its website and digital platforms Monday to showcase its cruise 2020/21 collection. Resort collections are significant in the region, and this was supposed to be Creative Director Virginie Viard’s first big travel venture. The plan was to stage the "Balade en Méditerranée" (A Mediterranean Jaunt) collection on the Italian island of Capri on May 7, but due to COVID-19, the French luxury maison “had to adapt” and take viewers on an imagined journey instead.
