1920s Chanel Attributed Silk Dress – Shrimpton Couture

My client acquired this in France many many years ago from a dealer. She was told at the time that is was an early Chanel acquired directly form the original owner. It does not have any labels but it does have the feel of piece Chanel was doing at the time. I am offering it at a price for the quality of the dress itself. If one could verify that it is indeed Chanel than the price is ridiculously low! The work is remarkable - a textured silk has been knife pleated and the over-stitched in horizontal rows from shoulder to the dropped waist. This creates a subtle checked pattern that is quite lovely. The skirt swings out from the lower hip into the pleat work and have beautiful movement.
