L'Officiel is a French fashion magazine which began publishing in Paris in 1921 by Max Brunhes and Andree Castaniee. The magazine is targeted at the upper-income, educated women ages 25-49. In the 1930s, the magazine started to present collections of haute-couture and since 1933 color photos have appeared in the pages of L'Officiel. The magazine is presently published in 30 different national editions. This particular cover was illustrated by French artist Leon Benigni. Artist signature is in the print in the lower right-hand corner of the cover. These original magazine covers are becoming increasingly hard to find.
